Valerian Maly studied music at the Conservatory Lucerne. Since the early 1980s he has been active in performance art and installation, usually in collaboration with his wife Klara Schilliger. As a cultural producer he founded the festival «VIPER – International Film, Video and New Media» and was art director of the projects «Whistling in the Forest – a festival on the phenomenon of whistling» / Lucerne Festival 1996 and «emit time – a palindromic festival for the year 2002» organized by the Freie Akademie Bern and the University of the Arts, Bern. In 2011 and 2012 Valerian Maly directed BONE with Peter Zumstein and in 2013 with co-curator Seraina Renz. He is lecturer for performance art and media art at the University of the Arts, Bern.
Marina Porobic studied art history and English at the University of Lausanne. She worked at the Federal Office for Culture in the Film Department and was interim co-director of the Bienne Festival of Photography in 2012. Since November 2011 she is a member of the foundation board of the Abbey of Bellelay and has so far curated the following exhibitions for the foundation: Rudy Decelière, Allotopies I, II & III, 2012, Romain Crelier, Mise ne abîme, 2013 as well as in 2014 the exhibitions by Renate Buser «Barock» and Charles-François Duplain and Philippe Queloz «LUBI 503025#11 BELLELAY».
